Tonight New Zealand Vs Gambia – hard to pick who’s going to win – if NZ watched the Gambia Mexico game they might be able to pick up a win. Gambia didn’t pass enough, the individual players hung on to the ball far too long and gave away too many opportunities to their opponents. If NZ is smart they will use this to their advantage. HOWEVER, can’t help loving the Gambian team. They played with their hearts on their sleeves. When they hit that field on Monday, they were beaming with pride and their joy at playing was infectious.
Also tonight Mexico vs Portugal. Oh this will be a hard fought battle. I’m routing for Mexico. Hopefully the ref won’t allow any nonsense such as diving from the Portuguese team.
This weekend? Sunday Chile vs Austria. Again, here’s hoping the ref puts the stoppers on diving. The Chilean teams were masters of it during the Canada/Chile game.
