Catpaw – diary of an angry cat

I was on a real rant the last couple of days over various things about child rearing. I’d like to blame the heat and smog, but nope. Even in the dead of winter I would still be ranting about the previous two articles. I have about 6 or 7 other articles I’m working on (varying subjects) but I’m just too lazy to care about anything. So you get this instead.

It is hot, smoggy and humid here in the big city. Cat has taken up permanent residence on my desk here. He’s stretched out on the cool wood, catching all the breezes that drift in from the window. I told him the weather will break soon, but he just grumbles about how we could just crank up the air. I keep telling him to put his fur coat in storage and he will be cooler. In return I get a baleful eye from him.

Yup, its really nasty here this week. And I’m not talking about my mood. Right now at 10:30 in the morning it is 27 celcius – with humidity taken into account – 35 degrees. Or for my US readers – 81 degrees and 95. Weather office is predicting a further 10 degree increase as the day progresses. Layer on top a humidity warning, smog warning and severe thunderstorm warning and you have a wonderful day in store.

Now… there is good news! Tonight its supposed to dip to 17 celcius or 63 F. So we are sliding up a further 10 degrees and then downnnnnnnnnn about 24 degrees in less than 24 hours. I feel like we are playing Snakes and Ladders with the weather. It is going to feel very cold indeed tonight. Guess Cat will finally get his furry butt off my keyboard and go to bed tonight. (oh in case you are uninitiated – Cat is my cat…yes. Short story about his name, I’ll tell you later).

I’m off to go save the world.

Actually I’m only off to fix computers. I make house calls to repair computers, fix software problems, help people buy a new computer, whatever is needed. Not sure what’s in store for me today, but guaranteed it will be interesting. That’s what I like about this business, it can always throw a curve at you. I like my customers. Especially the seniors. They can be a lot of fun when they are just learning the basics of the internet etc. A whole new world opens up. Maybe I’ll write about some of them this week.

Well, I’m off to travel the TTC – subway, local transit etc. That’s how I get around. Faster than driving, and I can sit and read between calls. Rather relaxing. Plus I get to explore every corner of the city this way.
