Went to the Hot ‘n Spicy festival down at the water front a couple of weekends ago. I wasn’t impressed. I think I might have missed a large chunk of the festival. I could find 4 booths serving hot sauces. I found ice cream and corn on the cob, lots of cloths and trinkets to purchase, note paper to buy. But bugger all in the way of hot ‘n spicy foods or displays. Last time I checked, vanilla ice cream didn’t count as a hot ‘n spicy snack.
I admit I might have missed some of the booths. I have a feeling they may have been inside the building, not outside where all the activity was. No signs in evidence to direct me to anywhere but the 4 booths I saw. I looked around for directions to more booths but couldn’t find a thing. I wandered into the building to check out if anything was there and found nada. Not a sign in site. I then made the mistake of asking a worker at the centre and was treated with a shrug. Guess he just wasn’t paid enough to do more than mumble “dunno”. I suppose I was being irrational in wanting info from a city worker at a city building during a city sponsored event. Silly me.
What a shame. What a waste of time. What a disappointment.
