Oh I love this time of year!
Nothing like baskets of fresh fruits and veggies to take the cranky out of a cat. I’m making a big batch of red pepper and peach relish - its simmering as we speak. We’re eating light tonight - fresh bread, tomatoes, a bit of brie, the simmering relish, some nice antipasto, crisp celery and carrots, pate and a big glass of irish coffee! I’ve already prepared the whipped cream. It’s the perfect evening here for such treats. Up here on the 20th floor, things tend to get a bit cool so the coffee will keep us warm. (That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!)
Tomorrow I’m going to make some chutney and later in the week a nice plum jam. Haven’t decided what else needs making. I haven’t made the jam in years. I used to make a big batch of it and enjoy it through out the winter. I wonder if I can get some nice fresh figs so I can make a fig and walnut chutney. Something else I haven’t made in years.
Wow if this keeps up I’ll have to rename my blog to Diary of a fat cat or Diary of a contented cat. Doesn’t have the same ring to it though.
Stumble it!

I would love to have the recipe for red pepper and peach relish. I lost my recipe when we moved and havent been able to find a similar one. It took 7 or 8 large red bell peppers and the same amount of ripe peaches, all chopped seeds and all with pickling spice vinegar and sugar. My husband raved about it and now it is no more
