Catpaw’s not going to fix the blog problems

Well, not this morning. I’m off down to the Toronto Film Festival ticket office. I received an early birthday present and can actually afford to go this year. I’ll get the catalogue and sit for the afternoon and see what is still available. I’ll let you know if I snag anything.

Check out the festival at www.tiff07.ca

I’m going to try for the some of the following:

India

Frozen by Shivajee Chandrabhushan
Four Women Adoor Gopalakrishna

China
Mad Detective Johnnie To, Wai Ka-fai
The Sun Also Rises Jiang Wen
The Exodus Pang Ho-cheung

Japan
A Gentle Breeze in the Village Nobuhiro Yamashita
The Mourning Forest Naomi Kawase

Romania
4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days Cristian Mungiu
Roming Ji í Vejd lek

Spain
The Orphanage Juan Antonio Bayona
me
Rafa Cortés

Serbia/Hungary/Germany
The Trap Srdan Golubovi

Hungary
Silent Resident Christian Frosch

Bulgaria
The Mosquito Problem and Other Stories Andrey Paounov

Ohhhh… ohhhh… so many films. Its like heaven! I don’t know if I’ll be able to get any of the above, but the thing about the festival is you can always find something. I traditionally try to set aside a ticket or two and go to a random film – something I would never have thought of going to. I have never been disappointed. Some will be sold out already. That’s okay – its a big catalogue and over 200 films. I’ll find some to go to. When I get back I’ll give you all the details.

I’ll fix the blog problems tomorrow. In the meantime, no comments and the archived section doesn’t work. My cure was worse than the problem. If you want to read past entries, just go to the bottom of the page and hit read previous entries. Sorry, Film Festival comes first.
