I love to check where visitors to the diary are from. There is something about reaching a world wide audience that intrigues me and tickles my fancy. What were they looking for? How did they find the diary? What were they doing when they were searching the web - having a glass of wine, beer, a nice chai tea, eating a papadum? All sorts of questions pop up. I guess that stems from my curiosity about the world. I’ve traveled and that has made me want to do more.
I want to travel the silk road, I want to walk along the Great Wall, I want to stroll along the banks of the river in Budapest, I want to have a glass of wine while watching the sun set on Paris, I want to walk the length of Hadrian’s Wall, I want to go on a train trip through India…. The world is a wonderful place to explore. And the people …. a few years back I leaned against Hadrian’s Wall near Bardon Mill and wondered about the thousands of people who did the same thing, dating back 2000 years. I tend to do that… wonder…
Well, today during the wee hours of the morning here in Toronto, I had a visitor! From Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia! NO seriously! Just think… was the person at home? At work? In a cafe? After a couple of clicks on a keyboard, a person sitting in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia was transported to downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Now how amazing is that! When I worked in a radio station, a number of years ago, I had the coolest stamp from Mongolia on my office door with a sign underneath saying “not in, gone to mongolia”. That would be one hell of a trip.
So, before I leave, Hello where ever you are in the world. Drop by again. And to Ulaanbaatar, send me some mail!
Stumble it!
