Catpaw – diary of an angry cat

Another busy day. Not enough time to post a proper rant for you. Apologies. So many computers, so little time.

Unfortunately, I have to go back to the annoying, moaning, bitching, smoking, complaining customer from yesterday. Still haven’t solved her problem. Worked on it for the last two hours here at my desk trying to figure out how to solve the problem. I hate 0×800ccc0f errors – there are so many possible reasons/solutions and I’ve gone through all of them. Time to get creative.

Figures it would be this customer. As I was going out the door yesterday, she said “I think you cheated me on my last bill”. I gave her the old fish eye look “No… I don’t think so.” Evidently I visited a friend of hers and solved her problem really fast about 3 months back – took me about 10 minutes and I laughed and told her I’d add this on to her next bill, which she paid in full the next visit. Seems CFH (customer from hell) thinks I should give her a discount because she has recommended me to this friend and “after all I didn’t charge [friend] the full amount that day”. I raised my eyebrow and pointedly said it was up to me who I offered a small break to and today’s job wasn’t straight forward. And what does your last bill (over a year ago) have to do with a visit to a different customer. Convoluted thinking at the best of time. Made my head ache. Now I’m annoyed with her… well more annoyed than usual. She thinks she should be getting a discount on her bill by about 1/2 my usual price. Don’t think so sweetie. Ya don’t ask G**k Squad to give you a discount, offer me the same respect. Its dangerous to be nice – sometimes it comes back and bites you in the ass. If I don’t show up for blogging duties for the next 4 days you know I’m in jail and need bailing out for doing something irrational to the CFH’s computer.

Mutter, mutter… on the upside…. I’m going to see an absolute sweetheart of a customer afterwards, so yet again, computer karma strikes again. After a very quiet month, I’m up to my memory sticks in computer problems. Love it that way. Nothing is ever boring if you have a good computer problem to solve.

Well… I’ll be… I did have a proper rant to post.. imagine that. Once on a roll, its hard to stop.
