AMEN !!
I’ve been fired from jobs for having to leave upon getting the visual disturbance. People just DONT understand … Miagranes are not just bad headaches, its soooo much more than that, a
whole body thing. People are always like “vegetarians have so many health problems” … well I’ve been getting these dasterly things since I was a toddler … long before I was vegetarian, or ever tried coffee or chocolate, or had any real stress in my life for that matter.
Sometimes I feel like the universe is divided into two types of people: those who get miagranes, and those who don’t.

Oh I share your misery! I loath getting into elevators because I know at least one person there will have bathed in perfume/aftershave.
The problem is worse when you consider this: soaps, deoderants, laundry soap, fabric softener, hair sprays and gels all advertise how wonderfully long lasting their scents are. By the time the average person gets dressed they are swamped in competing smells. Then they top off everything with a powerful perfume or cologne. You can almost see the smell lines buzzing around their bodies.
I use unscented laundry soap/softener etc because all the stinks trigger off ferocious migraines that won’t quit!

I can’t handle smells. It seems the older I get the more sensitive I am to smells. It will trigger a migraine quickly. I hate telling people they smell!!! I hate pain more. I work in a school and I can’t avoid everyone! I am not why they feel the need to drown in perfume!! Maybe a shower would be easier!!

Yes, it is very irritating when everyone has advice for you that will cure your migraine. They’re only trying to help, but they also don’t understand that you’ve been out there, despirately trying *everything* that could possibly help and guess what? You still have a migraine! It’s frustratingly naive that they think it’s so easy. They do not understand what it’s like to be totally incapacitated with poor motor function and slurred speach, literally blind, and in the worst pain imaginable and there is nothing you can do. You’ve already taken the meds and you just have to wait and pray for it to end.

Amen. I just put on this hand lotion and the scene started triggering a headache. I just washed it off. I hate “reekers” I can’t sit by people who bathe in perfune, after shave or whatever. People get insulted when you ask them to refrain. I look at it as self preservation though I rather move than confront someone.
