Happiness is a new computer
Oh I am a happy cat! I have a new computer! Just brought it home yesterday and have spent the last little while puttering around with it and making it just perfect.
I have all these neat little tips and fixes to speed up Vista – it really is a pig of a program but when you tweak it and push it around a bit it turns into a great program with lots of speed and grace. I’m a fan of Vista, despite all it’s bad press. You just have to be stubborn and tweak it to within an inch of its life and then it runs great.
I just plugged my old SATA hard drive into the computer with a nifty little cable that plugs into the USB port so I don’t have to crack the case open to install the drive. So… all my files from the old computer are moving over as we speak, to the new drive. When its done, I’ll package up the old drive and use it as a backup. Nice eh?
Oh I love playing with computers. So many tweaks and fixes, so little time.
Congrats on your new computer. We have read that most people who like Vista have newer computers–probably because of the processing speed. We haven’t had problems with it, but then, we are on a mac running bootcamp so it’s our first Windows platform!
A mac? That’s the dark side my friend! LOL.
Even on a new PC Vista can act pretty piggish – it needs a lot of ram to run and a whack of programs that run behind the scenes shut off.
