Stop it, they’re picking on me!

Do you hear that?
No, that whump.
It’s coming from all over the world.
That is the sound of millions of bigots spinning in their graves. Great sound isn’t it? Despite running a campaign of division and hatred, the Republicans lost. Well, actually they had their butts kicked by a class act.
Obama didn’t run play in the gutter with the Republicans. He distanced himself from the morally bankrupt style of government that is so prevalent in the US and offered something the American people haven’t had in a long, long time: hope and optimism. I think Americans are fatigued and just want their lives back. They are tired of living under a shadow of terror and a government unwilling or incapable of standing before them and saying “we will not live cowering in fear at every shadow that crosses before us”.
Optimism – wonderful creation. Let’s hope the new Camelot can live up to expectations.
But back on the Palin front – oh you just knew I couldn’t leave this topic alone! Dear Gov Palin is upset at her Critic:
…cruel and it’s mean-spirited, it’s immature, it’s unprofessional, and those guys are jerks.
Kind of hurts when you’re the target of a witch hunt, doesn’t it Governor. Now that the campaign has been relegated to the history books, the Repulican infighting has become very public. The McCain camp is furious with her behaviour and ill preparedness for the job and she in turn is … well …. name calling. Does this surprise anyone? If it does, then you must have slept through the last 2 months.
The McCain camp picked this person! Did no one think of checking her credentials? Did no one bother asking, “By the way Governor, you do realise there is a world beyond the Alaskan borders”?
But I find it quite telling that Palin is upset by personal attacks on her. Gee! They hurt don’t they! Guess because they are aimed at her now, this is unacceptable, but it was okay to indulge in a vicious smear campaign that whipped up violent fear in the masses. S’alright it was all for a greater good wasn’t it? All to get you one step closer to the top job.
Governor Palin displayed a recklessness that was stunning. Her demagoguery was terrifying. She thought nothing of exploiting the extreme fears of a weary people. She never hesitated to twist facts and spin half-truths and mistruths. She appeared to have no clue what her job would entail. Her lack of lack of knowledge on a wide range of issues was breathtaking. As someone who lives next door to the US, I for one am glad to see the back of her.
PS. Stinkers? Seriously, you called someone a stinker? Oh heavens, we’ve just leapt back into grade school! Stinkers? Thank you Governor Palin for one last giggle before you go.

Yes, it’s hard to be sympathetic to the governor when she was the worst of the lot.
I have to admit that I am disappointed at the number of people who are walking around town as if the world was going to end. I didn’t get to be all excited at work because it was too upsetting for our receptionist. I don’t recall that we who voted for Kerry were that upset, although I know many of us really believed Bush would never let another election come up–and thankfully we were wrong. It makes me sad to see how these otherwise good people were so manipulated into being afraid of this man.

I am at a lose why so many think voting in an intelligent man means the end of the US. I hsare you confusion over the extreme fear.
Makes you wonder how much more aweful it would have been if she had been voted in. The whole witchhunt mentality would have been out of control

You said it: Intelligent! As in… foreign intelligence? An instrument of the *terrorists*?
Oh thank heavens this is over!

I reckon there were just too many black/hispanic voters for Palin.
