Of angry seagulls and lopsided parakeets

I had one of those weeks last week. It wasn’t a matter of being uninspired… or maybe it was. Everything I drew last week came out looking like either a parakeet on speed or a very, very angry seagull. Bird’s can be very uncooperative at times. I go through these periods once in awhile where I simply can’t draw anything. Odd isn’t it. The heart was willing but the brain and hand wandered off somewhere else. I’d like to blame a new drawing technique, but alas, I can’t. I have however been playing with some new techniques for making my sketches look less … precise for lack of a better word. I’m feeling a bit more inspired today so I’ll wander off after I finish some work here and try drawing again.
I do have a moderately presentable chickadee to load up. He’s a bit messy because I have begun to move away from using only mechanical pencils. I bought some different pencils, and some are EXCELLENT at keeping their point. I’ll blather on about this later. I have to go. I’ve been running a scan on a customer’s external hard drive and I just got a virus warning. Bugger… work calls.
Later…
