Aren&#039;t most people these days? Possibly lead or plastic poisoning, or perhaps just a wishful desire to live in a world that is orders of magnitude less crazy.  Either way, it always seems so self-inflicted to me...

They forget because it is easier.  It allows reality (what&#039;s left of it) to better conform to their world views.
