I’m trying to see how many little widgets I can pile on before the entire page implodes or explodes. The site is looking quite cluttered but I’ve been enjoying playing around with the bits and bobs that make up the blog. I’ll have to surrender some of the side clutter sooner or later. In the meantime, I’m testing to see which little addon takes the longest to load.

 

Found a really cool widget tonight. I know, I know, I should be fixing the existing errors. That can wait until morning coffee. I found a way of displaying my bookshelf! Its called Shelfari. A very efficient way of wasting time.

 

Oh, by the way, I have my Film Festival catalogue and will see on Wed morning which films I get.

Yes the yoyo’s down at the Toronto Star newspaper decided it was newsworthy to publish the names of the Harry Potter characters who supposedly die in the last installment of the series.

Now why would a major paper do this? Is this really news?

And really, why spoil it for the rest of us? Was it such a non news day that they felt obliged to behave in such a tattle tale manner?

Personally, if I were the author, I’d go after the paper and sue for something – anything. I am very disappointed in them. I always read the paper for the local news content and some of the columnists amused me. Not anymore. I think I’ll take my business elsewhere – any paper with a sense of ethics and maturity …. oh wait, that describes most papers ….geez guess I’ll buy a cave somewhere and move in to get away from this childish behaviour.

Really… spilling the beans on a children’s book? Good grief.

I understand all about typos and misplaced words. We all slip up. But this is hanging in a bookstore. Its been there for awhile and not one clerk has picked up on the typo. I was going to tell them but just sighed and shook my head.


Maybe I’m foolish in my hopes that a certain level of literacy could be found in a bookstore. Just call me an optimist.
